Five Swedish institutions select the Primo discovery and delivery solution from Ex Libris Copenhagen, Denmark—September 21, 2011. Ex Libris is pleased to announce that five Swedish institutions joined the Primo® community within the last month. Following the selection of Primo by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency—Sweden’s first Primo site—KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Mid Sweden University, Luleå University of Technology, and Jönköping University represent the latest in a line of Scandinavian institutions that have opted for the superior discovery and delivery service offered by Primo. Combined with the Primo Central Index, which connects libraries to a mega-aggregate of hundreds of millions of scholarly e-resources, Primo enables users to search the entire spectrum of a library’s resources—both e-resources and physical holdings—through a single point of access, and to receive a single, relevance-ranked list of results. Primo, the Primo Central Index, and the bX article recommender join other Ex Libris systems deployed at KTH—the MetaLib® metasearch solution and SFX® OpenURL link resolver—and are integrated with the KTH library’s Millennium system. SwePub, a collection of conference papers, dissertations, scholarly articles, and other academic publications from Swedish universities, and the KTH DiVA database, which contains publications produced by the university’s researchers and students, are also searchable through Primo. Ulf-Göran Nilsson, head of acquisitions, publishing, and net-based learning at the KTH School of Education and Communication in Engineering Science, commented: ”We went through a very rigorous selection process, involving a pilot study preceding the actual procurement, to enable us to thoroughly study the systems on the market.
