Alma will enable Roma Tre to offer unified and enhanced services and will create opportunities for further collaboration in the region
Sasso Marconi (Bologna), Italy—November 6, 2014 – Ex Libris® Group, a world leader in the provision of library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that Roma Tre University Library has selected the Alma unified resource management solution. Alma will enable the University to take advantage of insightful analytics in making user-focused collection development and strategic decisions. With its streamlined workflows that unify electronic, print and digital collections, the solution will save the Library time and resources, leaving staff members with more time for effective interaction with users.
”Our decision to adopt Alma reflects our desire for innovation and furthers the Library’s strategy of investing in new technologies to facilitate and optimize workflows and communication,” commented Piera Storari, Coordinator of the University Library System. ”The time and resources we will save by streamlining our workflows and utilizing Alma’s analytics module will enable us to improve the service we offer our patrons and increase the resources we can make available for research and teaching. Save the time of the librarian, save the time of the user.”
Luciano Scacchi, Director of the University Library System, remarked: ”We have been actively collaborating with Università di Roma Tor Vergata since 2011, integrating the network of services we offer to provide users of the Universities with the best quality service. Alma’s open infrastructure will enable us to consolidate and develop this cooperation, maximizing our investment and increasing efficiency by allowing us to share data and processes. We are very much looking forward to joining the Italian Early Adopters’ program and expect that this experience will not only be very positive for the growth of our library system, but will also inspire other institutions.”
”The decision of Roma Tre University to join the Alma Early Adopters’ program represents an important step for the Alma community in Italy,” commented Liliana Morotti, general manager at Ex Libris Italy. ”We are delighted to have them on board and are looking forward to the way in which their decision enriches the program.”
